Antibodies directed against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD) demonstrate potent neutralizing activity. Scientists have identified several classes of these antibodies in COVID-19 patients that are largely responsible for the protective immunity induced by the current vaccines. Thus, there is an ongoing need to accurately determine the quantity and duration of the antibody response against the SARS-CoV-2 spike RBD.
