Antibodies directed against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD) demonstrate potent neutralizing activity. Scientists have identified several classes of these antibodies in COVID-19 patients that are largely responsible for the protective immunity induced by the current vaccines. Thus, there is an ongoing need to accurately determine the quantity and duration of the antibody response against the SARS-CoV-2 spike RBD.

In this LabTools webinar brought to you by Sartorius, Julie Lovchik will introduce a newly developed and validated kit that provides a rapid, robust, and sensitive serological assay that simultaneously measures IgG, IgM, and IgA anti-SARS-CoV-2 spike RBD antibodies in human serum and plasma samples.

Topics to be covered

  • Combining advanced flow cytometry instrumentation with the SARS-CoV-2 antibody detection kit
  • The advantages of assessing major immunological isotypes in a single assay
  • Characteristic antibody kinetics in response to COVID-19 infection and vaccination
