Event Overview

Molecular biologist Christie Wilcox takes readers on a global tour of some of the most lethal and complex venoms made by animals in Venomous: How Earth’s Deadliest Creatures Mastered Biochemistry. Wilcox breaks down how animals evolved the ability to produce venom, the chemistry of how they work, how human physiology can be affected, and how scientists can harness their power to heal instead of harm. We will convene to discuss the book, raise questions, and share observations in a December 10th webinar attended by the author, The Scientist's editorial staff; and members of The Scientist Social Club.

Before and after the webinar, readers are invited to join the discussion in The Scientist Social Club Facebook Group

Topics to be covered
